Guide · Business Casual
Business casual, made to measure.
Less formal, but no less considered. A business-casual suit takes you from the office to dinner and on into the weekend — without ever looking out of place.
Fabrics
Materials that move with you.
High-twist
Strongly twisted yarns resist creasing. Ideal for long days, travel and the transition from desk to dinner.
Wool-silk
Subtle sheen, soft handle. A summery cloth that remains formal enough for everyday office wear.
Light worsted wool
240–280 g for year-round wear. Breathable, crease-resistant and easy to combine.
Textured weaves
Fine herringbone or birdseye look interesting up close, calm from a distance. Perfect for wearing the jacket separately.
Cut and style
Between office and leisure.
Softer shoulder
A lightly constructed shoulder looks more relaxed than a strong business build, without appearing sloppy.
Shorter trouser
A slight break or slightly cropped length modernises the suit and pairs better with loafers.
Open collar
A shirt without a tie needs a collar that holds its own — such as button-down or spread collar.
Wear separately
Jacket and trousers do not always need to stay together. Each piece should work on its own.
FAQ
Questions about business casual.
What does business casual mean for a suit?
A suit that does not follow a strict dress code: softer cut, often solid or subtly textured, wearable with an open collar or without a tie. It fits the office, dinner and the bar.
Which fabric works for business casual?
240–280 g worsted wool, high-twist or a light wool-silk blend. The cloth should resist creasing so the suit still looks good after a long day.
Can I wear the jacket separately?
Yes. That is exactly what makes business casual versatile. A solid or subtly textured jacket pairs with chinos, dark jeans or the matching trousers.
Which shoes go with business casual?
Loafers, monk straps or polished derbies in brown or black. Sneakers are possible if the environment allows — but keep them clean and minimal.
